Oxbridge Interview Workshop for PHSG 6th Form Students
Today, our Sixth Form Students we were extremely fortunate to have two live webcasts with the Admissions Officer at our link, Oxford University College - Exeter College.
In the first session our nine year 13 applicants heard some tips about how to handle and prepare for the Oxford interviews this year. Several of this year's applicants have already had their interviews confirmed and are very excited, and understandably nervous, about showing off their best thinking when at interview.
Several Year 12 students were also fortunate to have a live webcast with Exeter College, Oxford University to introduce them to what is so special about learning at Oxford and Cambridge. The very friendly Admissions Officer told the students all about the tutorial system which enables you to discuss your work with a leading academic. She also told them about the wonderful resources, libraries as well as the scholarships and funding available. There are lots of grants for extra activities which you might want to do alongside your course such as travel, or theatre. There are other grants to help you with daily things so no one should be put off applying because of money worries. The advantage of being in a small college, taught in small tutorial groups were emphasised.
We are immensely grateful to Exeter College for this live event which enabled students to ask questions and gain reassurance and confidence in applying to Oxford or Cambridge.
