  • Cambridge Chemistry Challenge

    The results are in! For the first time, Year 12 students took part in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge against 12,968 students from across the country. Our 12 challengers achieved 5 copper awards (bronze equivalent), 1 silver award, and a gold award - putting our students roughly in the top 10% of students entered, with the other 5 students receiving participation awards. Well done Year 12!

  • A hat-trick for Kendall- winning their third sports day in a row in 2024!

    On Tuesday 16th July, students (and staff) at PHSG competed in the legendary and highly anticipated school sports day. With Sports Captains at the ready, athletes train throughout the year as the Houses compete against each other to win certificates, trophies and all important House points.

  • PHSG students host their own mock election

    As part of PHSG’s preparation for this week’s General Election, members of our Sixth Form helped raise awareness and engagement by hosting a debate, taking on the roles of spokesperson for each of the main political parties. With a large audience taking up much of the Newman Hall, students from all year groups had an opportunity to put questions to the parties regarding a broad range of issues ranging from tuition fees and mental health to transgender rights and Gaza in what proved to be, at times, a very lively and enlightening debate.

  • Food & Nutrition students get a Royal Navy visit

    On Tuesday 2nd July we had the opportunity to welcome two chefs from the Royal Navy to work with some of our GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition students.  They learnt about possible career options within the Navy, as well as being set a cooking challenge.
