Network Rail update
For details on the rail services impacted from Monday 2 December until Friday 6 December, please see the article below.
We wanted to remind you about essential track renewal work which will impact train services from Monday 2 December until Friday 6 December.
As a result, rail replacement buses will operate between:
- Plymouth and St Austell (non-stop)
- Plymouth and Liskeard (stopping at all stations except Menheniot)
- Liskeard and Menheniot
- Plymouth and Calstock (via Gunnislake)
- Plymouth and Bere Ferrers (via Bere Alston)
As an alternative, valid rail tickets can also be used to travel free of charge on the number 11 Go Ahead bus, travelling from Plymouth to Saltash, Menheniot and Liskeard.
Train services will still run between Plymouth and London Paddington/Cardiff Central, as well as CrossCountry services for Birmingham New Street or beyond. Trains will also run between Liskeard and Penzance, plus on the Looe, Newquay, Falmouth Docks and St Ives branch lines in Cornwall.
Customers should check before they travel using online journey planners (which have all been updated) or at www.gwr.com/check as train times may have changed to accommodate these works, and replacement buses will operate to a different timetable than the trains they replace. We’ve also made customers aware through traditional and social media, on board and station announcements, and station posters.
During this period, the Night Riviera sleeper service will only operate between London Paddington and Plymouth.
You can find more information at www.gwr.com/check - any help you can give to make your networks aware would be much appreciated.
Best wishes
