PHSG Shines in Emotional Netball Tournament

On Wednesday, Plymouth High School for Girls took part in the Year 10/11 Netball End of Season Tournament at the Life Centre, delivering a performance that was both inspiring and deeply moving. Competing against strong teams from across the city, PHSG demonstrated extraordinary levels of skill, determination, and teamwork, securing an impressive second place in the tournament.

However, their achievements extended far beyond their placement. The Year 11 students were a true credit to the school, displaying resilience and unity in the face of emotional challenges. With immense bravery, they stood together for a heartfelt minute’s silence, paying tribute to their much-loved PE teacher,  and coach, Ms Luscombe and wore matching ribbons to commemorate her memory. This powerful moment spoke volumes, showing the entire city just how much she meant to them.

It would have been understandable for emotions to overwhelm them, but instead, they channelled their love and respect into their performance on the court. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and unwavering team spirit left a lasting impression on everyone present, including students and staff from other schools.

PHSG is incredibly proud of our netball team for not only their success in the tournament but for the strength and character they displayed. Their actions were a testament to the values of the school and a beautiful tribute to a teacher who clearly inspired them. Well done to all involved—you truly made PHSG and Ms Luscombe proud.
