Lucy, 10ROP is raising money with her family for a charity close to their hearts.
Lucy and her sister Molly have decided to raise money for the Stroke Association to raise awareness and support to people who have unfortunately been affected by a stroke.
Around 2 weeks before Christmas Lucy and Molly's mum had a stroke. She suffered a dissection of the carotid artery, complicated by a clot in the MCA . She underwent an extremely risky operation which was vital for her to survive.
It was such a shock to everyone as she's the fittest and healthiest women we know. Everyday since her operation she has surprised us with the strength she's shown and her determination to recover. Everyday she looks stronger and stronger and is making real progress. My mum has been an inspiration to everyone through this challenging time and has really shown us she's stronger than anyone we know.
They have decided to complete 45 miles (for their mums age) by cycling over 10 days. They also have other amazing volunteers who have decided to join them in the fundraising. The sisters are hoping to raise £10,000 for the stroke association. If you would like to contribute, please visit their gofundme page.
