PHSG Students showcased in Save our Sea's anthology
PHSG students have been featured in this year's anthology of young peoples writing, Save out Seas, published by Plymouth University.
Young people from across Plymouth have come together to create an anthology that highlights the action that is needed to save our seas. The compilation of poetry, prose and illustrations has been selected and published ny Plymouth University as part of the Young People Writing 2021. We are delighted that two of our students here at PHSG have had their pieces selected and have been part of a project that will uplift the voices of young people and encourages a new generation of plastic conscious, Eco warriors.
The two successful students are Verity T, Year 9 and Elizabeth T, Year 7.
Here is what Verity had to say when we caught up this week.
We were told about the project during lockdown by our teacher, Mrs Blunden -Currie. I have a real interest in Journalism and love to write, so the being given an opportunity to have something published really motivated me to create this piece. The inspiration was easy for me as I live close to the sea and see the damage which we are causing on an almost daily basis, I think the message is really important so was really happy to be involved. I'm so excited- it is my fist ever piece of work to be published in an actual book!
Unfortunately we have not been able to catch up Elizabeth this week, but we congratulate the students on their achievement and hope this will be the first of many pieces which we will see from our talented students.
