Black History Month: Saluting our Sisters
Throughout October, schools across the Thinking Schools Academy Trust have come together to mark Black History Month (BHM) for our first #WeAreOne event of the year. It's an opportunity to inspire and empower future generations, while reflecting on the national theme. PHSG students have reflected on the past month and why BHM is important to them.
Black History Month is a momentous occasion to recognise and celebrate the contributions of black people to society. ‘Saluting Our Sisters' is the theme for 2023 and has focused on the crucial role black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities.
Please see below our video with Nshira, Deputy Head Student and leader of the Diversity and Inclusivity Group, and Jessica 11K, discussing their role models and why Black History Month matters to them.
