Predicted grades and references

Predicted grades

Students apply to university courses based on their predicted grades. Teachers use a range of data and experience to arrive at a predicted grade, including:

  • Year 12 summer mock results

  • In-class assessments

  • Classwork and homework

  • Verbal contributions in lessons

  • Outcomes of previous cohort

  • The trajectory of the student’s work

Students can use the tariff calculator to work out how many UCAS points their grades are worth:

References

We aim for our references to demonstrate good knowledge of the student’s strengths and capabilities and tailor these carefully to the course applied for.  Each subject teacher contributes to the reference, which is compiled and added to by the tutor, then checked by the UCAS Coordinator.
