PHSG Year 11 Students Gain Valuable Interview Experience in Mock Session

On Tuesday 14th January 2025, our Year 11 students had the valuable opportunity to practice their job interview skills during a series of mock interviews. The event was designed to give students a taste of real-world interview scenarios and to help them develop the confidence and techniques needed to succeed in future career opportunities.

The students were put through their paces by representatives from a variety of employers, including The Army, Plymouth Marjon University, Wolferstans Solicitors, Babcock, Peninsula Medical School, Plymouth City Council, Atkins Realis, Hoare Lea, Plymouth Community Homes, PKF Francis Clark, and Apprenticeship Support & Knowledge. Each interview was tailored to give students the chance to refine their communication skills, learn about different career pathways, and receive constructive feedback from industry professionals.

Alan Jenkins, Head of 6th Form, praised the students for their dedication and enthusiasm during the event:

“I was super impressed with both the level of engagement and resilience displayed by our Year 11 students while debriefing them after their mock interviews. They all fully appreciate that they are now in a better position and prepared for their next interview, which may well be of consequence.”

This experience has undoubtedly provided our Year 11 students with a strong foundation for future success, equipping them with valuable skills they can carry forward into the next stages of their careers. A big thank you to all the employers who participated and supported our students in this enriching experience!
