PHSG Celebrates Science Week with Compton Primary School

Today, Plymouth High School for Girls (PHSG) hosted an exciting Science Week celebration, welcoming enthusiastic Year 5 students from Compton Primary School. The event was a fantastic opportunity for the young visitors to experience the wonders of secondary school science through engaging workshops in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

This year’s theme, ‘Change and Adapt,’ guided the hands-on activities, encouraging students to explore how scientific concepts shape our understanding of the world. From investigating the fascinating adaptations of plants and animals in Biology, to understanding forces and motion in Physics, and observing chemical reactions in Chemistry, the young scientists had an unforgettable learning experience.

PHSG’s Sixth Form Subject Ambassadors played a key role in guiding and supporting the visiting students through various experiments and activities. Their expertise and enthusiasm helped make the sessions both educational and inspiring.

The workshops provided an invaluable experience, sparking excitement and curiosity and allowing them to engage with scientific tools and techniques that go beyond the primary school curriculum.
PHSG are proud to foster a love of science in young learners and looks forward to hosting more inspiring events in the future!
