An Exciting Visit from Author Sara Lamerton!
Today was a special day for Year 7 as we had the privilege of welcoming local author Sara Lamerton to our school! She came to talk about her brand-new book, The Curse of Drake’s Island, a thrilling adventure that had us all on the edge of our seats.
After her reading, Sara shared stories about her writing journey, from the spark of inspiration to the hard work of getting her book published. She gave us some great tips for creative writing, including how to develop interesting characters and keep readers engaged. Who knows? Maybe today’s talk will inspire the next great author from our school!
Some lucky students who pre-ordered their copies were thrilled to collect their signed books at the end of the session. There was even a chance to buy a copy on the day and have it personally signed by Sara herself – a fantastic keepsake!
