Mali, and her race for life for Cancer Research
Mali, Year 13, will be running in the Race for Life 10km on Sunday 2nd June for Cancer Research in honour of her late Nana and is fundraising. Please see below Mali's story and a link to her just giving page.
Mali's story:
In late 2023, I sadly lost my beautiful nana to stage 4 brain cancer.
After watching cancer slowly take over her body, leaving her unable to speak, eat or move properly, I felt an urgency to help others dealing with this horrible illness.
In honour of my nana and many other close family members who have battled cancer, I will be running the RACE FOR LIFE 10KM on Sunday the 2nd of June. I am doing this in hope of raising £500 (or more!) that will go towards the Cancer Research Charity. Every pound that is raised will go towards cancer support and vital research so people fighting this illness can get the help they so desperately need.
Although I couldn’t help my nana, I hope by raising this money I can help other people who are suffering.
1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime meaning you likely will be affected or know someone who is. Therefore, unfortunately, I am sure that this disease hits close to your heart.

Below is my just giving page. Any donations big or small are greatly appreciated. Every single pound will go towards a charity that works tirelessly for people living with cancer. If you are a UK tax payer, please tick the gift aid box when donating. Gift aid is a tax relief allowing UK charities to claim an extra 25% in tax, back from the government, on every eligible donation. Eg. for every £1 you donate, the charity can claim an extra 25p from HMRC. If you are too young to pay income tax and have a guardian who is willing to make the donation on your behalf, then this would gain the Cancer Research Charity an extra 25% donation in gift aid.
