Blind date with a book
All you will need to do is choose a wrapped book from the display. You won't know what it is until you get home. Read and write a review to share with the other students. Time to take a chance, you may just find the perfect match!
Review by Elizabeth Year 10:
As a reader I have very set views of what books I like, and if a book does not interest me within the first few chapters I will put it down. The 'Blind Date With A Book' gave me a chance to read a book that I would never of normally picked up and read. When I first saw the book I chose, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but after a few pages I was completely hooked; I have now read the entire trilogy, and completely loved it. It is very easy to do and the review is straight forward and informative that gives feedback to help make it more enjoyable for future readers. I think that 'Blind Date With A Book' will give young people the opportunity to try out different types of books, give them a wider knowledge of the reading materials available to them, and to not judge a book by its cover.
World Book Day
The day that the students and staff alike look forward to throughout the year! There are exciting activities all week and events taking place on the day. Which book character will you portray?
